Asansol is an industrial town in the state of West Bengal, India. Situated about two hundred miles from Kolkata, the city is based on primarily the Coal and Steel industry.

In January 2005, Sony announced plans for the creation of software that allows for watching television broadcasts via WiFi which will be released for both the PSP and Sony's portable television sets. Sony plans to add the functionality to PSP in the first half of 2005.
